About Me
As a fully qualified chartered counselling psychologist I have completed both a Masters degree in Experimental Psychology at Cambridge University, and a further Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at Roehampton University. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), I abide by their Ethics and Code of Conduct and I am fully insured. I believe that it is important to continue my professional development by keeping up to date with the latest psychological research and literature, and by regularly attending training courses and workshops that I think would be of relevance to myself and clients. As well as having my own private practice I have spent several years working in a private psychiatric clinic, and prior to that in the NHS seeing clients referred for counselling by their GPs. I have also worked as a volunteer counsellor in a youth counselling agency. My approach to working with clients is integrative and solution-focussed, which means that I combine aspects of different therapeutic models and techniques to create a unique approach that is tailored to the needs and aims of each particular client. I work in a collaborative way, helping you gain insight into the root of your problems as quickly as possible, then seeking to enable you to bring about the changes you would like to make. In addition to my background in psychology, I have several years' experience of working in financial institutions as a management consultant where I worked closely with senior executives to help the business implement strategic change.
